There they go again
Their voices lighting up the night

He pushes her backwards

Screams of terror fill the air
He's not even fighting fair

I peeked through the door

She was lying on the floor
And crying in the gore

She told me to go back to bed
The thought of her death
Ran through my head


The hospital we went
The next day

Bruises up and down her body
Scars and scratches upon her face
She was broken all over the place

The man puts on a smile
Fake as can be

And my mother glares at me
Hoping that not a word be said
So afraid she'll wind up dead

I led myself down the hall
Dialed and made a call

Saved her life
And no longer were they
Husband and Wife
